Teabag folding is also called Kaleidoscope folding. It is a form of modular origami, it was started by a lady called Tiny Van Der Plas. The story is told that she had the idea for cutting the teabag wrappers to make a birthday card for her sister. We can now buy sheets of paper printed with the squares ready to cut and fold. My particular favourites are from a range by Janet Wilson's World of Papercraft.. They also manufacture cutting papers for those who like medallions but don't want to actually fold paper, there are also co-ordinating rubber stamps to print your own squares

In June 2000 I was priveledged to attend a class on teabag folding with Janet Wilson and Tiny van der Plas. Both ladies were not only so generous in sharing their knowledge of card making using various ways to complement the wonderful medallions, they were fun to be with and truly lovely ladies. The following 4 cards were made with their help.
